The Lightning-Scarred Planet Mars – DVD
A video documentary that could change everything you thought you knew about ancient, pre-historical times and how much ancient mythology we have carried into modern times and religious thinking.
In this second episode of Symbols of an Alien Sky, David Talbott takes the viewer on an odyssey across the surface of Mars. Exploring feature after feature of the planet, he finds that only electric arcs could produce the observed patterns. The high resolution images reveal massive channels and gouges, great mounds, and crater chains, none finding an explanation in traditional geology, but all matching the scars from electric discharge experiments in the laboratory.
In Episode One, Talbott showed electrical formations in the ancient sky, when a gathering of
planets moved close to the Earth. Though the present episode was designed to stand alone, for viewers of the first episode, the implications will come as no surprise. All lines of evidence converge on the story of a planet formerly immersed in electrical activity—activity that left unmistakable patterns on the planet’s surface.
Today no body outside the Earth has been more fully surveyed than Mars. It’s surface features thus provide the best test of a new perspective on planetary history. (Approximately 85 minutes.)

What this video is about
There are essentially three stories explaining present conditions on earth:
Story #1: Most of us have been taught by academia and science that the solar system has been stable for millions of years. Long-term stability is a background belief that we take for granted. We are bewildered to consider that there has been a major rearrangement of planets just a few thousand years ago, just before the dawn of the historical age. The ideas of gradualism and uniformitarianism are packaged within this cosmological paradigm of stability. The sciences of geology, paleontology, astronomy, and evolutionism have developed mutually consistent narratives that rely upon vast stretches of time to unfold into the world we see today. Indeed, “time” is often the major agency to “explain” what otherwise is inexplicable.
Because of the extensive evidence for catastrophic mechanisms, primarily in geology and paleontology, scientists and scholars have HAD to develop a variety of catastrophic scenarios. These usually involve comets and asteroids. But these are not truly global in scale and none propose planetary agencies or suggest a rearrangement of the solar system.
Many scientists, if asked to consider the wide-ranging and extensive evidence for planetary catastrophism, would claim that no matter how much evidence is marshaled such extensive energy and orbital exchanges are scientifically impossible. Accepting that gravity is the major or only force structuring and controlling the orbital dynamics of the solar system planets, such a statement would undoubtedly be true.
This video shows that the evidence for the catastrophes is not limited to earth.
Story #2: On the other hand, less than two centuries ago people were taught god-driven miraculous accounts of catastrophes delivered from the sky, such as the great catastrophe known as the “Biblical Flood.” These stories were usually taught as being literal instead of spiritually stylized narratives, and the events were hardly ever attributed to any natural mechanism, especially not to planetary agencies. They were generally couched in a short chronology based upon a literal account of creation in Genesis.
Most scientists are certain this is false and without merit. Science now has a long history of finding natural explanations for things previously considered to be caused directly by the hand of god.

Story #3: The third story is about extensive changes in the solar system and the havoc visited upon planetary surfaces, including the earth and its ecology. The idea of planetary catastrophism was known by ancient peoples, and they were understandably obsessed with it.
No one has done more to reintroduce planetary catastrophism into the consciousness of modern man than Immanuel Velikovsky. Even though he stood on the shoulders of men like Ignatius Donnelly, Velikovsky was a pioneer in the science of comparative mythology, correlating themes of myths and legends from around the globe together with ancient art, rituals, and geologic formations. He formulated a stunning and coherent paradigm of our catastrophic past. His book, Worlds in Collision, published in 1950, set the western scientific world on its ear and engendered a vicious and stifling reaction from academia.
Along with his series of books revising ancient chronology, in his book Earth in Upheaval Velikovsky introduced powerful new mechanisms for geological formation. He also introduced electromagnetism as a major factor in the orbital dynamics and interactions of the solar system planets. Meanwhile, the space exploration of the USA unleashed a torrent of surprises for astrophysics and a plethora of evidence for catastrophism on other planets. Modern academia pretends that Velikovsky’s work has been discredited and invalidated, and his voice has been silenced in the halls of learning. But as to his invalidation, nothing could be further from the truth.
Enter the Electric Universe paradigm. This is not a new but an old cosmology that has now been significantly revitalized by advances in plasma knowledge, significant evidence from the space program, and greatly expanded knowledge of ancient times and mythologies. The EU cosmology allows the orbital and energy changes to take place without violating scientific principles.
Ancient Ttestimony, comparative mythology, and “sacred” writings all attest Mars to be a major player in the “wars of the gods”. Geological evidence on earth for ancient planetary interactions includes miles-deep sedimentary material; electrical scarring in the form of craters, rilles and canyons, the polar dumps of permafrost muck in the arctic and a rather pure ice dump over Antarctica; and vast dumps of reddish material in Australia, Madagascar, southern Africa, and the United States.
Why this video is so important
In contrast to the other episodes in this series that address ancient symbolism and mythology, this video focuses on the hard, visible evidence for the catastrophic reconstruction of ancient times. The evidence for interplanetary EDM scarring on Mars is explicit, extensive, and unequivocal. This is the smoking gun! There must be a planetary source for the massive discharges necessary to ravage the surface of planet Mars.
